New for 2022! The TD-2 Tether and Release Device replaces the Tender Descender RT-2 device and is up to 50% stronger. The TD-2 only needs a couple E-Matches or the J-Tek Initiator to activate the device. You do not need any black power, Pyrodex or other gun propellant. The device features a dual charge cup for redundancy. If either e-match fires, the device will separate.
The TD-2 is completely sealed, so it can be used up to extreme altitudes, even in the vacuum of space. When the device releases, the pyro gas stays sealed in the device, so the parachute fabric is not exposed to hot gas. As such, the TD-2 does not need any sort of protective sheath around it like the previous RT-L2 or RT-L3 devices.
