This is a 1 3/16" ID x 1/8" thick stainless steel ring. Slider rings can be used to reduce the opening shock load of the parachute. Slip the ring over the shroud lines up to the skirt. When the parachute deploys, the ring slides down the line and slows the opening of the parachute.
